A better day
What a joy it was to wake up this morning and get to snuggle with my babies. Francis knew that yesterday would be hard on me, and it was. Today, though, was great... besides being able to be close to them again, Grace has taken to the no nursing better then I would have ever imagined. Last night, Francis put the kids down by himself and Grace went in her crib without making a sound. Tonight, it was the same. She only asked once to nurse and all I had to do was tell her that we couldn't and she was fine. We snuggled in the chair for a few more minutes and then she was ready to get in her crib. What a big girl. Well, I'm off to bed... another fun, busy day tomorrow. :)

2 hours of sleep...
...is not enough. I have had trouble with my gall bladder ever since I was pregnant for Grace. In fact, they almost took it out when I was 14 weeks pregnant with her, that's how bad it had gotten. Thankfully, it resolved itself for the most part for the remainder of my pregnancy. I've had bouts of it off and on in the last 2 years, but yesterday had to be the worst. The pain increased so much that I ended up going to the ER after putting the kids down to bed. Let me say, it was a long night. By the time I got the the ER, most of my pain was on the right side of my back, under my ribs. It hurt to breathe, but not really when I moved. I guess the doctor was trying to be thorough and decided to rule out a blood clot. I had to undergo a test that required my to have radioactive things put into my body. It's kind of scary to think about, but they said there isn't anything for me to be worried about as far as anything long term. The test was okay, a little bit clausterphobic, but I survived it. One of the worst things about the whole ordeal is that because of what they did, I can't have the kids close to me. I can give them a quick hug and kiss, but no snuggling, reading books together, etc. The even more heart wrenching thing is that I can't nurse Grace for 3 days. I know she is almost two... I know we were in the process of weaning her. She only nursed about 5-10 minutes before bed. But, this isn't the way I wanted it to end. I mean, yes in 3 days I could nurse her again, but what would that do? Only prolong what we've been trying to do anyway. I just wanted to do it when we were ready... not when someone told us we couldn't anymore. So, tonight, I won't be able to nurse her like normal and I also won't be able to hold, and snuggle, and comfort her through it. This is going to be a hard day... a hard 3 days. Thankfully, the test came back fine... definitely not a clot... not conclusive that it was my gall bladder... so, I guess we'll just see as the days and weeks go by. I'm tired and ready for bed. I can't wait for Francis to get home so I can take a nap and sleep some of this day away...

Another day...
Another day... Today was a nice day. Francis took care of Grace a lunch time and through her nap so that Isaac and I could go over to a friends house. It was so nice to have some "mommy time". Isaac played with the two girls and I only saw him while we ate our lunch. The rest of the time he was content to play with all of the new toys. I had a really nice time with my friend. Beside chatting and catching up on our busy lives, we worked on the gift bags for our MOPS Crop tomorrow. We are both so excited about it. We both had our hand in organizing the fundraiser, but we are also going to enjoy some quality scrapbooking time. I think I've only done a handful of pages since the crop last year, so I'm looking forward to dusting off my tools and dive back in. So, Francis will have his hands full tomorrow having the kids all day. I know the three of them will have a great time together. Isaac and Grace can't get enough of playing with daddy. They will probably all be exhausted when the day is done. Well, I'm off to organize and hopefully get to bed a little early tonight. Until tomorrow.... :)

Growing up, but still my baby boy....
Isaac is so cute. Everyday is new and different with him. He is definitely in a transition right now from a baby/toddler stage to a preschool/young boy. His thoughts and actions reflect this change in so many ways. He is learning to spell new words everyday and just last night he was able to read about 10 different 3 letter words in his bible story. Also in the last few weeks, we've noticed how he is aware of our different feelings, especially when we are sad or hurt (even if we are just pretending). At night time I usually have a couple of minutes alone with him while Francis takes Grace. Most nights he tells me a story he has made up which I just love to hear. Some nights he will say to me that he is too tired to tell me a story, so I will pout and pretend to cry. He will pull me into his arms, saying "come here, come here, it's okay", the same words I use when he is sad or hurt. As for him still being my baby boy... well lately he has been crawling into my lap and laying his head on my chest asking "Momma, can I be in your heart?". MY heart melts everytime, and everytime I tell him that he already is and he always will be (even when he gets big and is 20 as he likes to say!). I am really enjoying the age he is right now and even though he pushes the limit and tests the waters of independence, in the end he is and will always be my baby boy!!!! :)

A little peace and quiet, please?
It's the end of another day. Today was Library day, though we didn't make it to the normal library we usually go to on Wednesdays. Today instead of hitting storytime at the library in a neighboring town, we decided to go to our local library and check out some books and play with the trains there. Of course, today it was quite busy in the children's area. Two other mom's were there with their kids (3 total), which in and of itself isn't a bad thing. What was bad is that neither mother cared enough to watch their own kids. Most of the time they were off in another section of the library looking at books or dvds. When we first arrived one of the boys was jumping on the furniture without a care in the world. It's hard enough to try and keep your own kids from getting into trouble and doing the right thing, but it is even harder when the other mom isn't paying attention to her child to help mediate. Anyway, I guess next week we'll head back to our usual library and enjoy the quiet there!!!! :)

MOPS Tuesday!
Well, today was another MOPS meeting day! I really look forward to Tuesday mornings when I can get together with my mommy friends. Twice a month we have our "official" meeting and the other weeks we have playgroup. It is so nice to get together with other women in a similar season of life. Today, our discussion was on marriage and loving our husbands. It is always a good thing to be reminded of how blessed I am with my husband and ways that I can show him love. We also had a little craft project which I finished this evening. It is a little photo album that we turned into a booklet of Marriage Conversation Starters. On each page is a question to ask each other like "What would be harder for you to give up coffee or chocolate?" (coffee, duh!) or "What do you remember about our first date?". Some things Francis and I have already talked about... but others I am interested in knowing what his answers will be. Anyway... today was another busy day... the housework is suffering... but there is always tomorrow! :)
